The Pressure Standards Section (PSS) offers Calibration of Pressure Measuring Instruments in positive gauge and negative gauge (vacuum) modes such as:
  • Pressure Calibrator / Module
  • Digital Pressure Gauge
  • Test Gauge
  • Pressure Transmitter  / Transducer
  • Industrial Pressure Gauge
  • Industrial Pressure Balance / Deadweight Tester
  • Sphygmomanometer
On-site calibration services are also offered on pressure gauges, transmitters and transducers.

Calibration Method

Direct Comparison

Pressure reading of the Unit Under Calibration (UUC) is compared to the pressure generated by the standard.

  • Industrial gauge compared to a test gauge.
  • Test Gauge compared to a pressure calibrator.
  • Pressure calibrator compared to a pressure balance (hydraulic and pneumatic)

Calibration Procedure:   The Unit Under Calibration (UUC) is connected to a pressure standard that is used to apply known gauge pressures. Measurement series of increasing and decreasing pressures will be applied depending on the accuracy of the UUC, using the appropriate pressure medium such as air, water, nitrogen gas or hydraulic oil.   Trainings offered:   The PSS offers in-house and on-site training on the “Introduction to Pressure Metrology and Calibration of Pressure Gauges
